WHAT’S ON IN 2016

There’s always something on at the Fairground Heritage Centre!

The Fairground Heritage Centre has a reputation for offering special events throughout the year designed to compliment the permanent exhibitions on site. This year we have a fantastic selection of different events, with something for everyone.

There will be special themed events throughout the season, in addition to which we are open during the February Half Term holidays, and then from March until the end of October,  7 days a week . Come along and pay us a visit – it’s a great day out for all the family.

Thank you for hosting the first of many crafting events in your great fairground surroundings.

The STEAM Powered Big Draw

The Big Draw
Saturday 8 October 2016

From 10am

Come and join in with this year’s Big Draw event – fun for all ages. This year’s theme is:

The STEAM Powered Big Draw

Bringing together Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths. STEAM fuses creative innovation, enterprise, digital technologies and the arts.

Artistic and creative thinking is essential to industries across the world.  Look around you. The chair you’re sitting in, the computer you’re using to read this and the building you’re in, all began life as a drawing. Drawing is a universal language that helps to reshape our world.

So for The Big Draw 2016 Festival, we want you to show the world how Drawing Changes Lives beyond art. We can change perceptions about art by showing that creativity enables innovation.

Have fun, get creative – local artists Jennie Hale and Julia Vella from Workshop Under the Sky will be on hand to lead a wide range of fun and informative sessions.

Normal admission charges apply – book in advance for big savings.
There is no additional charge for participating in the Big Draw activities.
Vintage rides, stalls, arcade, etc, all open (using tokens, at small additional cost)
